|Description||Teen entrepreneur academy|
Camp BizSmart is the world’s only entrepreneur academy for “Tweenpreneurs” age 11 - 15. Located at Stanford University July 6 - 17, 2010 and Santa Clara University August 2 - 13, 2010, executives from top companies like Apple, Google, and Cisco coach the students in the basics of marketing, sales, product design and financial management.
The founders of “Hot” Silicon Valley start-ups like Hara, Better World Books, Serious Materials, Valence Energy, Hope Labs, and Fitness One challenge business teams to design solutions to real world problems. Each team writes a business plan they must defend to a panel of real investors. The winning team is invited to appear at a national event. Two years ago the winner went live on stage at the World Innovation Forum in New York City where they were interviewed by Cisco CTO, Padma Warrior.
2010 faculty member, Serious Materials CEO Kevin Surace, the Inc Magazine “Entrepreneur of the Year” will amaze the students with how he will build an assembly plant at the base of the Empire State Building to replace more than 6,000 windows in this historic landmark.
