Buddy Media is a developer of applications for social media sites, including Facebook and MySpace. Within days of the launch of the Facebook Platform, Buddy Media launched 7 applications which were added by more than 500,000 Facebook users and accessed by millions of others.

Buddy Media is backed by Howard Lindzon, Peter Thiel, Mark Pincus and James Altucher.

In 2007, Buddy Media acquired Acebucks, a virtual currency Facebook application developed by Aryeh Goldsmith. Acebucks later received $1.5 million in financing. In 2008, Buddy Media acquired 5 more Facebook applications from ChipIn, Inc.

Their other applications include Griddle, Matches, and My Profiles.

Typical smoke in mirrors company that you would expect to emerge and wither in the irrational exuberance of the social network craze. No product, no technical strengths or know-how, just a sales and marketing team selling snake oil to whoever will listen, chasing their tail from failed idea to failed idea.
