Bol.com is a Dutch online retailer, specialized in books, both Dutch and English, and entertainment products such as CD’s, DVD’s and games, and electronics, photo/video, media devices, laptops, software, and accessories. Bol.com was founded in 1999 as part of Bertelsmann Online and as part of a global initiative to sell media products online worldwide. The Dutch site was privatized in 2003 and is currently owned by Cyrte Investments, a Dutch Investment company specialized in media and telecom companies. Currently, bol.com is an online (local) market leader and winner of several online retail awards
