Blue Marble Energy Corp., a Seattle, Washington company, uses a combination of patented, non-genetically modified bacterial strains and an anaerobic fermentation process to produce speciality bio-chemicals and renewable natural gas. These renewable biochemical products, such as esters, amides and anhydrous ammonia, can serve as drop-in replacements for their petrochemical counterparts in a wide variety of industrial processes.
The company’s Acid, Gas and Ammonia Targeted Extraction (AGATE) technology can process almost any cellulosic and polysaccharide biomass feedstock and can be adjusted to produce a different spectrum of bio-chemicals depending on the economic opportunity.
One of the company’s primary biochemical products are esters, used to make flavors, fragrances, plastics, resins, solvents and fuels, synthetic textiles and more.
