blinkBox is a London based video startup that lets you customize video clips by adding pre-roll text to any section of your favorite movie, TV show or viral video. It has contracts with some larger production houses as well as many independent one’s to bring you a heavily populated video index.
Videos can be shared through a link, embedded file or mobile device. The company’s business model is to pitch buying or renting the movie or TV show after viewing the clip. This content is delivered with blinkBox’s homemade DRM software.
The concept is similar to Slingbox’s Clip+Sling, which allows Slingbox users to create short content clips and share it with friends.
