BlackArrow is an advertising startup with offices in California and New York City who are developing a multiplatform ad management system.
BlackArrow’s platform manages, delivers, and measures targeted advertising across broadband, VOD, and eventually DVR platforms. Its customers are both cable operators and content owners, though none have been announced publicly yet.
Basically, they have found a way to insert advertisements in TV and Internet video programming, and it shows the ads even if people try to skip over ads with their DVRs. MediaVillage summarized it well: If an operator can provide programmers with ways to monetize their programming through on-demand, programmers will provide operators with blockbuster high demand content; BlackArrow aims to provide those means.
BlackArrow was founded byDiMA Group partners Tom Morgan and Pat Dunbar, who are responsible for the AdLab program and Innovation in Digital Advertising (ID!A) Program.
