Berlinica is a New York-based multimedia publisher that brings books, e-books, movies on DVD, and CD music from Berlin, Germany, to America. All titles are in English or subtitled.
Berlinica is owned and run by Dr. Eva C. Schweitzer, an author and former metro reporter from Berlin who divides her time between Berlin and New York City.
Berlinica offers fiction, contemporary as well as older titles, as well as non-fiction. The non-fiction program focuses on 20th century Berlin history and guide books. Berlinica also publishes cookbooks, architecture books, biographies, and photo books, books about the Berlin Wall and the Cold War, as well as music from the Golden Twenties and political documentaries. The company plans on selling items such as cards and city maps.
Berlinica books are sold at Amazon and Barnes & Nobles and other outlets. They are printed on demand, a new, cutting-edge technology for printing books as they are ordered, a fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly way of production that saves American books. The book program will be also available as e-books for all standard devices in the beginning of 2012.
