Barbie Girls

Barbie Girls provides a safe and supposedly fun and exciting environment for girls between 6 and 16. Users can navigate a world of parks, cafes and malls to chat with friends and exchange gifts. Girls have two chat options: B chat for talking to anyone in the virtual world including bots and Secret B chat in Barbie’s room only for friends. Other Barbies bothering you? Don’t worry. Click the “ask to leave” button to make anybody leave your room. No Barbie will ever be without their alone time.

For worried parents, Barbie Girls has superfluous measures to block any obscene language and prevent information from leaking. It appears they have a white list of words that are allowed to be said rather than a black list of prohibited speech. At the moment very few things are not censored.Barbie Girls is not quite free. Users are directed to the Barbie website consistently during their time in the virtual world. Mattel toys (that appear in the virtual world) are marketed to kids in real life.

Surely it's against the law to not be able to cancel your "auto subscription" in an easy fashion? The info from the "how to cancel your auto subscribe" DOES NOT come up on your account page. Perhaps this is a job for the ACCC? $5.99 US, hmmm...perhaps you should add a currency convertor like most shopping baskets have online so you can actually see how much it REALLY IS. Buying Australian from now on! Forever!

After you join you cannot cancel your account or reach antone to help you! I have been trying for days to sign in to cancel my account because my daughter does not want to be on this site anymore, it WILL NOT let me sign in! It will not even accept my secret question...it just does not do anything! As a parent my advice to all other parents...DO NOT JOIN...it should NOT be this difficult to cancel your membership!

I know some people are very upset about some glitches but you should contact them not go around saying bad things about them.I am personally think barbie girls is an excellent site with great staff.And you DON'T have to be a V.I.P!You can choose to be one.Your money goes toward the hardworking people there.What if your boss said one day your not going to get paid as much because people are complaining about the prices!Give it a rest people!

i like the feature where they let players to chat with others and get to hang out. but even they let us chat and hang out, im still bored. that website is unfair. i suggest they should let some items and furni in the vip to be for all girls. even a little. so we cant get bored. i just want to complain if there is a complaining section there. i want to speak to the person who is responsible for the site.

My personal opinion is that they should stop robbing kids. They didn't charge before-now they charge 'cause they know that kids will keep bugging their parent until they get what they want! They know that there is nothing to do with out a membership!I understand that they want to make money,but this is ridiculus!!!

This comment is going to tell you all the problems I have while I'm on barbiegirls.com. Yep I'm on it right now. Lets see how long it takes to visit someone's room. The list has been loading for 3 min. 5 min. 7 min, maybe I'll watch a movie while I wait. 10 min. Thats it I'm gonna do something else. I'll go to the B Chic Botique, how long will it take to load... 3min. It says its full. lets try again. Well, the site wouldn't let me do anything so I'll get off & sign back in. I typed in my name & password, it said my passwd. didn't work w/ that name. i clicked on "I forgot my password, typed in my name again & the answer to my secret ? says thats not the answer. Well if I have this much trouble logging in, whats the point in playing it?

i just became a barbie girls member yesterday, and i tried to sign in today, and it said, that password didn't work with that screename. well i printed the page that comes up after you become a member because it tells you your name and password. i looked at it as i signed in. plus i wrote all of it down on a sticky note so i wouldn't forget. well somethings gotta be wrong with the site. i read some of the other comments and its happend before. they better fix it before it happens to someone else.

i like the barbie girls website but on the other hand i don't. ever since the whole vip thing came out i can't spend my b bucks, so i can't buy clothes furniture, jewlry, shoes, accesseries. i can't even have exclusive looks or go to the Tail-Shakin' Tree House, the Sparkle Coaster Place, the Glam Gowns place, or the Cub Beauty place. i can't send virtual gifts or let other users (including my friends) come into my room. plus i can't even play certain games without becoming a vip. its ridiculous!!!! obviously i'm not a vip, which explains my negativity. but like i stated earlier, i also like it. i have had to make do with what i have access to. i go to the b chic botique, the b stylin' shop, furni fever, b cinemas, and the b cafe. (even though i can't buy anything) i love talking to my friends on the site so that is a plus and i enjoy creating chacters on it. all i ask is that the executives or whoever is in charge of the site bring some of the stuff back so the non vips can have fun too!!! thanks!!! : )

I play on barbiegirls.com all the time and hace a couple of characters for the site. I love it!!! But they should have vip clothes, looks, jewelry, shoes, pets, & furniture for everyone who partisipates on the site. I'm not saying that they should let all of the vip stuff be for everyone, but by omitting some of it & allowing access to it for all girls, would be great!!! I understand that it is company that is trying to make money,but be fair to all the loyal partisipants that are looking for a little more. If you do this, more girls might log on to the site & more parents will be happy because they won't have to pay all this money during a recession.

I have been playing on barbiegirls.com for about 2 months and I think that it is unfare to charge people money just so a virtual character can look pretty. They should at least include some exclusive looks for v.i.p.s, for all users to make it fair for other girls whose parents can't afford to pay. I know that my parents can't but they wish that they could but they tell me, "We just don't have the money."

In my opinion, Barbie girls is really fun and a good way to stay out of trouble. For instance, my friend started playing Barbie Girls which kept her off of Myspace.com (worst website in the world if you ask me) I read some of the comments above, I do agree - everything is expensive, the V.I.P, Barbie Girls, etc. And without the V.I.P, there really is no point to playing on this site because you can't purchase anything, go to half the places, you pretty much can't do anything but chat when your on a basic account. There is some sticky parts to this website, for example, "Boys" now on barbie and girls dressing up like boys on Barbie Girls.com and asking them if they "Want to go out." Also, most girls on this site say really mean things to one another they can't neccesarily say the actual words but they find words that are allowed to make those words or make mean comments. I play Barbie Girls and when girls are trying to cuss one another out, they use words like "Bit~, Shout up, etc." This really bothers me. I hope they fix that, but everyone knows they probably never will.

Well this was the end of it all. My one daughter was at the Stylin Shop. The page got "stuck" and little did she know it was busy deleting her BBucks amount to nothing while it put about five or six copies of the clothes she bought in her closet. She is ONE girl with ONE Barbie. Why would she need so many? If they say they can't get into her account to fix this- then I will officially forbid them from continuing with this ridiculousness. I know websites aren't perfect but the glitches on this one - tremendous. It feels like CHILDREN designed it and run it.

Well, it worked for a while again today and of course...it went back down. I am getting pretty sick of dealing with this and would like to know why they can't seem to get their stuff together. It is very frustrating watching your kid work at something for 30 minutes or so- only to have them automatically booted off and then when they try to log back on- they are told they are already logged in. One tries to give the other a makeover and she's told that she's already getting/giving one- when she is clearly not. This product might seem like a great gift- but unless it comes with a pass to a mental hospital- do NOT bother. It's not worth the trouble.

We just stayed off it for a while and will check back later. Yesterday my girls complained that while at Club Beauty it would say they were getting a make over when they weren't. I am really hoping that it's just a technical issue. I could have sworn I read that the VIP lasted for a year if you bought the MP3. I hope you check back here and can update us if you can. Today it's not even letting my daughters sign in and they are getting an "OOPS! That username doesn't exist!" This better be a glitch of some sort as both have worked mighty hard at their rooms and clothing items. If I have to hear one more thing about Barbie Girls and fashion packs...let's just say they won't be getting any more and I will tell everyone else I boasted to about this product that they shouldn't bother!

barbie girls is SOO boring if you dont have vip and my parents arent about to pay money monthly for something that is not important considering all the money they spend each month for important things. before vip it was great i could still invite people to my room and buy things. now with vip it seems like there is no more space for people without vip because now we cant enjoy ANYTHING the site has to offer because all those privileges went to the vips. its seems like the barbie girls people dont care about how the people who are not vip(and there is a lot of them)feel because they didnt give any privileges to people who are not vip.

This website is really COOL. I really like the new idea of barbie girls VIP. The only thing I don't like about barbiegirl.com is you have to pay for vip, but the this web is still GREAT. The thing that would make this web really COOL is if it had secret places and objects, and if you have a barbie girl you can take your pet for an interesting walk. I also think it would be cool if people with barbie girls can have more than one(1) pet, and people with no barbie girls can have a pet too (I think that might be fair.)
