BandHawk is an iPhone and web app that helps unsigned bands to manage & increase their fanbase, whilst letting music fans expand the number of bands they follow.
Users are able to discover unsigned bands that match their own musical tastes - searching for bands can be done by Genre, Location or Name. The iPhone app is location-aware, and displays location-based search results using the familiar Google Maps interface.
Users can keep track of bands that they find that they enjoy listening to, and are informed of upcoming live performances and other important news updates from each band.
Based on the bands in the user’s Favourites list, BandHawk scans the favourites of all other users and can automatically recommend bands that the user may also like, whilst also optionally weighting the results based on the user’s current location.
