Audicus is an e-commerce startup aiming to make hearing aids far more affordable to the 30Mn Americans with hearing loss.
Hearing aids are expensive. A pair costs anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000 and users receive practically no financial support from healthcare coverage schemes (e.g. Medicare). Unfortunately, the high price is not due to the technological complexity of the device, but almost entirely due to the mark-ups imposed by manufacturers and audiologists.
Audicus aims to change this by removing many of the costs associated with buying a hearing aid and by making the whole purchase process more efficient, simple and transparent. As a result, we are able to save patients up to 75% on the traditional price of hearing aids.
