Acquired by Hearst Communications
Answerology is a New York based startup founded by Matt Milner in 2005 that aims to solve "miscommunication between the sexes" through relationship advice.
It is similar to Yahoo Answers in that its principal component is a Q&A service, but it offers additional capabilities aimed at the dating and relationships niche. These include
anonymous Q&A, surveys, and some limited social-networking functionality.
The site received funding in 2006 from investors including Jim Treacy, a former president and COO of Monster.com. It was acquired in March 2008 for an undisclosed sum by Hearst Corporation.
