American DG Energy Inc. distributes, owns, and operates on-site energy systems that produce electricity, hot water, heat, and cooling. It offers natural gas powered cogeneration systems, which produce electricity from an internal combustion engine. The company also distributes and operates water chiller systems for building cooling applications. It offers standardized packages of energy, equipment, and services to the needs of property owners and operators in healthcare, hospitality, residential, athletic facilities, and industrial sites. As of December 31, 2009, American DG Energy had installed energy systems, representing approximately 4,210 kilowatts and 33.5 million British thermal units of heat and hot water, as well as 2,200 tons of cooling. The company was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.
