AltCareer, a new job website for professionals, is helping small businesses and startups in Canada attract in-demand workers by highlighting unique office perks and flexible working arrangements. Professionals can browse jobs by perks from flexible working hours, work from home positions to ping pong tables and catered lunches.
By showcasing these unique benefits, AltCareer makes it easier for small companies to stand out from the competition and overcome the difficulties in attracting top talent, without the expensive costs of recruiters. Their site states that:
“We help working professionals find exciting careers within smaller companies who offer the best perks, lifestyle and benefits for their employees. We want to be the number one destination for professionals who want to re-energize their career and take home more than just a paycheque.”
Founded in Waterloo, Ontario during the summer of 2011 by Paul St Onge and Carlos Perez, AltCareer’s official launch was in January 2012, and since then the site has seen considerable growth in both candidates and employers. AltCareer is currently active in Toronto and the Waterloo region, and will be expanding to other cities soon. Current employers listing on the site include Achievers, Desire2Learn, Enflick, Top Hat Monocle, Vortex Connect, Xtreme Labs, and more.
