Algal Scientific is developing an advanced wastewater treatment system that removes and recovers nutrients from wastewater using a propriety algae-based process.
Algal’s technology removes nitrogen and phosphorus-containing compounds, while also removing BOD/COD. The resulting biomass is removed efficiently and re-used as a natural fertilizer or as a source of bio-energy. The company is based in Michigan at a former Pfizer research facility.
