Zazzle

In 1999 Robert Beaver and his two sons founded Zazzle.com, a service which enables users to create their own products. Zazzle.com users can create virtually anything, from customized t-shirts to postage stamps. Users can also recieve a commission on products that they sell and design themselves. Zazzle is funded primarily by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers and Sherpalo Ventures, who in 2005 provided $16 million in seres A funding.

Major competitors include Cafepress, and Goodstorm. However, Zazzle’s patented color print technology allows them to manufacture multicolored items, especially t-shirts and other clothing items, for pennies at a time.

Zazzle.com makes it easy and relatively inexpensive to produce a variety of different types of products. Not only do customers have hundreds of products to choose from, but they also have access to many different symbols and designs, including Disney figures and other movie icons that can be put on any item.

In addition to creating customized products for yourself, users can become contributors by sharing their unique creations in the Zazzle galleries. Users can earn up to a 17% commission every time someone purchases one of their designs.

Zazzle’s marketplace already has a lot of products created by users. Click here to see the items that are currently the most popular.

Tried to order my items with my own design, but they would not print my elves. They claimed on the phone "elves" infringed copyright with "Elvis" and they "can not print celebrities". The so-called customer service ended up getting nothing else done but waste my time.

Working with CafePress is better, especially when you have a Premium Shop. So far I could not earn much at Zazzle.com, though I offered the same products as in CafePress, which brings in more sales.

Yeah I like Zazzle at the moment. It seems easier to use than CafePress, and you can instantly post what you want to sell... ...however, I am confused. How am I going to receive income if they didn't ask for my SSN? How does that all work?

I think it's great that some people have had good experiences with Zazzle. I myself am just greatly, greatly disappointed. I'm SO disappointed, in fact, that I've deleted all my keychains from our Zazzle gallery because the quality of construction is so poor. I've also deleted all our tees because they consistently print poorly. I'm just not comfortable having our company name on a product that prints badly. It's especially bad when the prices are sooo high - and then you add shipping costs on top of that and you're paying twice as much as you should be for a product that's sub-par. The quality of their other products is okay. I've ordered several cards, postcards and prints from them and didn't feel the need to return them. HOWEVER, the printing isn't perfect. I've also ordered cards from another site called Greeting Card Universe. I compared the cards from GCU side by side with the cards from Zazzle and the quality was slightly better on the cards from GCU... AND the GCU cards are half the price of the Zazzle cards. As time goes on, I'm just more and more convinced that Zazzle is not the place for me. I'll stick to POD sites that I know are ethical, have good prices and quality printing and products. A word of advice to potential Zazzle customers: research other sites before you give Zazzle your hard-earned cash. Sites like Red Bubble, Greeting Card Universe and Good Storm have awesome prices, customer service and quality.

I have had nothing but the best customer service and have been a customer for years. I ordered my holiday cards and stamps this year, I got them on time. Maybe people should plan a head like I did and not order stuff the week before Christmas. Zazzle Rocks.

I have only been a contributor on Zazzle for about 6 months now. So far I don't have any major complaints. I was actually impressed with the quality of my mugs, calendar, and postcards. However, I agree with the shipping costs and the time it takes for receipt. I ordered Christmas presents the weekend before Christmas with the expectation that I would get them that next week and I didn't get them until Christmas Eve. One gathering was the 23rd, so I didn't have my gifts for that family Christmas. Hopefully Zazzle will continue their quality that I have enjoyed and speed up their shipping time to better serve their customers. Otherwise, shipping needs to be cheaper if time is going to continue being longer. Check out my site and let me know if you have anything special you would like to see made.

I am flabbergasted at the comments that have been submitted by disgruntled Zazzle customers. I have been a loyal Zazzle customer for past two years. I have not had any major problem with their quality of work. But when there have been problems, customer support employees have addressed my concerns in a timely and professional manner.

I'm so fed up with Zazzle I can't believe they even got nominated! Sure, they look all sparkly and fun on the outside - until you actually get involved with them. They have terrible quality control, pathetic customer service, NO concern or respect whatsoever for their artists (which is how they make their money) and their focus has recently seemed to shift to branching out into new prospects - which is the LAST thing they need to be doing! There are so many bugs within their interface AND in their other processes, they have NO business sucking other people in until they fix the stuff that's already wrong. Nearly everything I have ever ordered from them had to be returned for a re-print or a refund. Their shipping costs are ridiculous and their '24-hour turnaround' is a joke. There are much better POD sites out there to work with AND order from.

They will not get my vote either. When I started with them years ago they were fine. Since they did their upgrades in the middle of last year everything has gone down hill there. Quality is poor, no customer service, and they do not listen to their artists concerns, but keep promising they will. I just ordered a print and it had 2 terrible lines running on the bottom and the left side. The top and right side were white. They had to be cut off as they looked like filmstrips. Aweful. Then I got a morphing mug, it was designed backwards. Their shipping is terrible too. I used to love that place, and it is unfortunate what happened there. When they have glitches it takes forever to get them fixed too. Their new models versus just showing the tee as before makes your design look distorted. Not a happy camper there anymore.

Ordered merchandise for Christmas, paid extra for speedy delivery. Got merchandise for someone else. Tracked them down and mailed their merchandise to them. They got merchandise for a 3rd party. 2 unanswered emails to ZAZZLE, and no one answers the phone. I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER, and still don't have my merchandise.
