GrandCentral

The basic idea around GrandCentral is one phone number for all your phones, for life. As we change jobs, homes and cell phones, there are a lot of phone numbers to keep track of, and keeping everyone up to date with your most recent phone numbers is a real cost. If you use GrandCentral you can give out a single phone number. What happens when a person calls that number depends on his/her relationship to you, and what you are doing at the time.

This service is STILL not up and running. Dead End.

Grand Central is an excellent service with an extensive feature set that anyone can use without hassle. However, it is missing several key features which may deter the home (non-business) user. For instance, when your phone rings, you pick up to a recording telling you who is calling, you then have to press 1 to pick up the call (or two to send to voicemail, three to listen in on a voicemail, etc.) and there is no option for auto-answer. Other than this and a few other small annoyances I would recommend this service to anyone who has far to many phone numbers. Its recent acquisition by search giant Google Inc. is also a plus as it may someday soon be integrated with your existing Google account.
